FSWO Membership Categories
Individual memberships

Active – Career
For members who currently work or formally worked for a full-time Fire Department
Have full voting rights

Active – Volunteer
For members who currently work or formerly worked for a Volunteer Department
Have full voting rights

Chief/Assistant Chief/Deputy Chief
For Fire Chiefs who currently work or formally worked for a Fire Department.
Have full voting rights

Student
For members who are currently enrolled in a post-secondary school fire service related program
Do not have voting rights

Associate
For members who are interested in the fire service and supportive of the mandate of FSWO
They do not get a vote at the AGM

Honorary
Give to individuals as special recognition by the Board of Directors for their outstanding support and contribution to FSWO
Do not have voting rights

Lifetime
Awarded to FSWO Members who have been elected as an officer or director to the Board and have served a minimum of one term

Department Memberships
Membership entitlement is eligible to Ontario municipal fire services and can include any number of members of any rank within their department. The minimum number of memberships with voting rights is based on their municipal population.
Association Memberships
Membership entitlement is eligible to all Locals of the Ontario Professional Firefighter's Association (OPFFA) and can include any number of members of any rank within their Local Union Membership. The minimum number of memberships with voting rights is based on the number of Association members within their Local.
